Welcome to Our Little Ohana!

Aloha! Crazy is the world of blogging! I've had so many different blogs and yes, I'm making one more. This one, however, is a remake. I want my family blog to be open to more readers, but I don't want to put my kids' names, our home town, and our calendar out there for the world to
see. So I have created this new blog to take the place of my previous family blog. Many of you regular readers know our names and where we live and all that good stuff, so please don't comment with that information. My family will have nicknames and I'd very much appreciate you using those when you want to leave a comment. (And I love comments!) My husband served his mission in Hawaii so I've decided to use that as a little fun to our new blog!
Hope you enjoy reading!

Day 2: Animal Kingdom

We started the day with a Kilimanjari Safari!

Can you find all 4 giraffes?

I love this pic of the flamingos and the palm trees!

We made our way to Camp Minnie Mickey before heading to lunch and spotted a couple cute bunnies! Thumper and Miss Bunny!

Then a cute little doggy, Pluto!

Then we ran into Goofy!

We then made our way to one fabulously delicious lunch at the Rainforest Cafe!

We enjoyed the FAB showing of the Festival of the Lion King!

We met 2 crazy kids, Lilo and Stitch!

After leaving Animal Kingdom, we went to Fort Wilderness for the Hoop de doo Revue for dinner! KB loved eating the ribs!

Awesome seats in the balcony.
Awesome second day!

Welcome to Walt Disney World!

I have well over 1000 photos from this trip, big surprise, so I've narrowed it down to about 100. I'll divide those up into daily posts of our trip so it's not one insanely long post. (Except for this one. I was camera happy the first day.)

The first thing we did at Disney World was have breakfast with the Princesses in the Castle at Cinderella's Royal Table! We saw Snow White...

and Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora)...

and the Little Mermaid (Princess Ariel in human form of course)...

and Belle! (KB calls her BeasaBelle - Beast and Belle)

And who of all people did we see when we walked out of the castle after breakfast?! Cinderella's wicked stepmother and stepsisters!

Then we spotted a little sweeter person over by the carousel, Mary Poppins!

Then we rode the carousel!

And the ever so classic It's a Small World! It was a hit! LG really loved this one.

Ku'uipo rode Dumbo! He obviously had a lot of fun! (I really hate to admit it cause this picture is so funny, but KB was in there with him too.)

LG fell asleep while we waited in line to see these guys, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too!

LG was still asleep when we got to Minnie's house so KB had to go through it without her.

Then we went to see some fairies. Iridessa...

Tinkerbell loved LG!

Vidia even made time for a photo with us!

KB absolutely LOVED getting to see Buzz Lightyear!

Then he rode on his new favorite ride so he could shoot Zerg!

Then he drove a race car at the Speedway and got his driver's license!

Then he played on my iPad while we waited in the ridiculously long line (over 45 mins) to see his other favorites...

Woody and Jessie!

Then it got dark enough and they lit up the Castle and started Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! It was beautiful!

Then there was an awesome Christmas parade at the Party! Mickey and Minnie were there of course!

And so were Chip n Dale!

And Goofy too!

Then it ended with Santa Claus!

As we walked down Main Street to go home, it started snowing! (Soap bubbles in Florida) KB loved trying to catch it!
What a FABULOUS first day at Disney World!!

Ironman 2010

As most of you know, my dad had been training for the 2010 Florida Ford Ironman for almost an entire year when he got in a terrible bike accident only 3 tiny weeks from the big day. He broke his clavicle into 5 pieces (ending up with surgery putting a metal plate and 9 screws in), fractured a rib, got a concussion, and lots of bumps, bruises, and road rash. Sadly, he realized he wouldn't be able to compete in this year's Ironman. However, his good friend had been training with him all year and would still be competing. We all decided we would still love to go and support this good friend. So, only slightly changing our departure plans, we headed down to Florida for another Ironman!

The view from our condo when we arrived Friday night!

We opted to just watch the swim start from our room. We had that great view!

We headed down to the first Transition (T1) to see our friend and of course it was insane out there so I didn't get a picture. My main goal was to get my dad a chance to see his buddy. (Dad is awesome at the whole competing in the race thing, but is a complete novice when it comes to what our Team does to cheer for him!) I helped him see his friend entering T1 and exiting out to start the bike. (I think by then he was beginning to see how hard it actually is to do what we do!)

We picked a great spot (after about 4 U-turns) to see our friend twice in one stop.

While waiting for our second pass by, we took a photo of the Team!

Our lookouts.

His second ride-by. Now we're off to catch him starting the run!

Looking quite happy for already having done 7+ hours!

At another run siting, Dad got a chance to run with him for about a mile!

Running right by me down the home stretch completely concentrating on his finish!

His fam was there too!

Dad welcoming his best bud into the Ironman Finishers club! (Well, there should be a club!)

Trunk or Treat

I'm gonna try to catch up on my blogging before we go to Disney World so I can post as soon as we do things there.

Our bishopric had a donut eating contest!

Bishop didn't win so he got a pie in the face!

Same with the 2nd Counselor!

My sister and her little girl were super cute!

So was LG! The kids got to parade their costumes around the gym!

KB had to punch and kick the pad at his uncle's trunk before he got the candy!
